I have seen people at the airport that don’t have to check any baggage. I always wonder how they could do that when I was checking two bags. The good thing about traveling light with only a carry-on bag is that when the plane does its landing and you get off the airplane, you just go directly to your car and don’t have to contend with the crowd.
When you travel with only a carry-on bag, you are at a better advantage than someone traveling with one or two baggage. You don’t have to worry about the airline sending your packed baggage to Singapore when you have just arrived in California. You can use a carry-on bag that fits enough of your apparel to keep you on your trip instead of carrying nonessential things that you don’t really need.
Pick the essentials like toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, deodorant, perfume or cologne, if you use those, makeup, one pair of shoes (you will have the other one on your feet), and your garments per day. You can easily get those to fit in a carry on, if you choose the right things to take with you.
If your travel takes you to a destination where you will stay for more than seven days, then you probably will need to check another bag at the airport. You may have the option of staying at a hotel or choosing a hotel that has a laundry room where you can do your laundry and save on taking any additional pieces of clothing.
